AWANA is an exciting evangelism and discipleship
program
for children ages 2 through 6th grade. AWANA
meets
at the church each Wednesday evening from 6:00
p.m. until
8 p.m. during the school year.
In order to minister more effectively to our
youngest boys
and girls, the AWANA program is divided into seven
clubs.
They are:
-
Cubbies - Preschool boys and girls
-
Sparks - Boys and girls in kindergarten, first
grade, second grade
-
Pals - Boys in third and fourth grade
-
Chums - Girls in third and fourth grade
-
Pioneers - Boys in fifth and sixth grade
-
Guards - Girls in fifth and sixth grade
AWANA is divide into three parts. They are council
time, workbook time and
games. During council time each week a practical
Scriptural lesson is taught.
During workbook time the AWANA kids work with
adult leaders to
memorize Scriptures and learn how to apply the
Scripture to their lives.
Game time is a fun and exciting time. The clubbers
are divided
into teams which compete in various games around a
large circle.
What is AWANA?
Awana is similar to Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts
except-The Awana program
is distinctively Christian and Bible centered. We
WELCOME everyone!
In AWANA, we work with the children, share the
gospel with them,
encourage them, and have fun doing it!
The word Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not
Ashamed and
comes from 2 Timothy 2:15. "Do your best to
present yourself to God, as
one approved, a workman who does not need to be
ashamed and who
correctly handles the word of truth."
Awana works! Countless times, God has used this
club program
to reach youth and adults for Christ and train
them to serve Him.
People who have done little or no volunteer work
find a place of
meaningful ministry.
